Day 15: Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles III: The Manhattan Project (NES)
Accomplices: Ted Smith
Details: The third Turtle game for NES. This one has Shredder and Krang floating Manhattan in the sky AND capturing April O’Neil. The Turtles are vacationing in Florida, so they ride their surfboards until they can board a submarine, hop a bridge and then hitch a ride on the Turtle Blimp to the island. Then, after they defeat Shredder they go after Krang in his spaceship by taking an outdoor elevator to a building top and then get sucked up in his tractor beam to the spaceship where they defeat Krang and then Shredder pours mutagen ooze on himself and becomes Super Shredder. They defeat him, and then somehow Krang’s spaceship explodes and Manhattan is lowered gently back to it’s original resting spot. Phew. I like simple plots like this.

Day 14: Magic Sword: Heroic Fantasy (Arcade)
Accomplices: Carrie Gottuso
Details: I had never played or even heard of this game until now. You make your way up 50 floors of a castle to fight the bad guy and take away his evil orb. Only we (apparently) decided to keep the evil orb, and became corrupt ourselves. It was an interesting twist to the ending, to say the least!

Day 13: Teenage Mutant Hero Turtles (GameBoy)
Details: This is the European version that I traded for when I was a kid. It is identical to the American version, except that it is called Teenage Mutant Hero Turtles instead of Ninja Turtles. It’s a short but fun game. I remember it being more difficult.

Day 12: Super Mario Land (GameBoy)
Details: Defeated Tatanga to save Princess Daisy. It’s a cool little game. Lots of little differences from the other Mario games in the series, and the soundtrack is fantastic.

Day 11: Chip n Dale Rescue Rangers (NES)
Accomplices: Carrie Gottuso
Details: Attempted this earlier with Ted Smith and we died at the last boss. Finally got a chance to avenge our deaths! We also had support tonight from our cheerleaders Chewie and Courtney Stavar.

Day 10: Contra (NES)
Accomplices: Ted Smith
Details: Yes, we used THE CODE. But we still rocked the game! Didn’t have time to get a picture of the big boss, so the photo on the left is of the first level for context.

Day 9: River City Ransom (NES)
Accomplices: Ted Smith
Details: I’ve been wanting to play this game with someone for a while now, so I was very excited to attempt it with Ted. We beat the famous Dragon Twins, and then kicked Simon’s butt. Ted had the Dragon Feet and I had the Stone Hands. We were unstoppable.

Day 8: Kirby’s Dream Land (GameBoy)
Details: I’ve been working on some other games, but they’re not quite finished yet, so this was an easy one to meet my goal in the meantime. Haven’t played it in a while, and it was fun!

Day 7: X-Men: The Arcade Game (Arcade)
Accomplices: Carrie Gottuso
Details: This is the port of the X-Men Arcade Game for PS3.

Day 6: Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles: The Arcade Game (Arcade)
Accomplices: Carrie Gottuso
Details: Completed the original arcade game. This is the emulated version off of the Gamecube game Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles 2: Battle Nexus. It’s identical to the arcade version, except that they replaced the original music with new (inferior) music, probably because of copyright issues.
